Vacancy

As a Design Engineer at TILLEN, you play a crucial role in translating customer requirements into practical and technically feasible solutions. You start by creating a conceptual design, using precise calculations to ensure its viability. This phase lays the foundation for further development and is followed by the basic design phase, where you collaborate with Structural Engineers to bring the design to a more detailed level.

In the detail phase, you take the lead in guiding the CAD team. You provide them with essential technical information and guidelines, which they use to create detailed technical drawings. It is your responsibility to ensure that these drawings meet the highest standards and are thoroughly reviewed before release. Through your expertise and involvement, you ensure that each design not only meets the customer's requirements but also can be efficiently realized within the technical parameters and guidelines set by TILLEN.

You will be part of the Design team, which consists of two Senior Design Engineers, two Design Engineers, one Junior Design Engineer, one Senior Draftsman, one Junior Draftsman and one Team Lead.

If you enjoy bringing creative designs to life, are curious about how designs come to be, thrive on collaborating with various disciplines, and don't mind occasionally rushing for ad-hoc projects due to tight deadlines, then this is the job for you.

Working week

Design Engineer

On a good working day, you have collaborated intensively with colleagues on designing innovative solutions. You have overcome complex technical challenges and made tangible progress in project development.

On a less enjoyable workday, you've spent considerable time on administrative tasks like preparing reports and managing budgets. Progress in projects was minimal due to unexpected technical complications.

Firsthand experience

You encounter a highly challenging problem and find yourself unable to resolve it. What do you do?

In such situations, it is encouraged to collaborate with a colleague or your designated buddy to brainstorm potential solutions. If the challenge remains daunting, initiating a brainstorming session with a small group is a common approach. This collaborative effort aims to tackle the design challenge effectively by pooling diverse perspectives and expertise, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of viable solutions. This active approach not only fosters teamwork but also leverages collective knowledge to address complex engineering issues methodically and innovatively.

Growth

There's no rigid format for your career path. Depending on your ambitions, experience, and needs within the company, you can develop in various directions. TILLEN is growing rapidly, and we want our colleagues to benefit from this growth and grow with us. We allocate budget and time to ensure everyone thrives in a challenging environment where they can excel.

Working at TILLEN

Our vacancies are exclusively aimed at candidates who wish to join us directly without involvement from staffing agencies and recruiters. We do not engage with freelancers either; acquisition based on these advertisements is not appreciated.

TILLEN was founded in 2007 by three enthusiastic engineers with a passion for heavy constructions and lifting equipment. The company designs and delivers customized solutions for the safe and efficient handling of heavy constructions, such as those for wind farms, contributing to the energy transition. The team comprises experts in mechanical engineering and structural engineering. By pooling these skills, tailored solutions are created, manufactured, and implemented for handling heavy and unwieldy loads. The expertise extends beyond heavy lifting, serving various markets. Designs range from specialized equipment to supporting structures and other handling devices with diverse applications. In addition to engineering, an increasing part of our activities involves manufacturing our designs, ultimately delivering complete solutions to customers. This process includes visiting the manufacturing workshop, devising and conducting tests, and participating in the final acceptance by the customer.

In addition to vacancies for Sales Engineers, Project Managers, and Structural Engineers, we are always looking for CAD Engineers, Design Engineers, and Project Managers. Please send your application to tim.huele@tillen.com.
